Meet a few of the best movers austin has to offer!
SETH
Seth Whaland got his start as a mover when he worked for Mambo Movers in Philadelphia. There he discovered his passion for carrying boxes on his back. Upon his return to Austin he decided that safely moving other's possessions from one location to another was his calling and he started MASH MOVERS. You may know Seth from his other projects around town such as the record label he helped start, Keeled Scales, or the bands Literature and Tres Oui.
TRAVIS
Travis (AKA Jack Greenwood) is one of the most experienced drivers MASH has to offer. If you hear Prince blaring from the MASH truck, chances are Travis is packing! When we asked what his favorite part about moving for MASH is he said, “Carrying king size Purple mattresses up 3 flights of stairs with multiple switchbacks.” What can we say, our boy loves a challenge! LUKE
Luke is a mover of simple pleasures. When asked what their favorite part about moving is, Luke said “Pickin’ that stuff up”. When in between jobs, you might find Luke and their crew grabbing lunch at local eatery, Little Deli. In addition to back carrying and eating subs, Luke also plays the guitar and works as an actor in and around Austin. Find out more about Luke’s projects here!
THOM
As MASH’s resident drummer, Thom knows that maintaining rhythm is important! That’s why, in his own words, “making a stressful situation a whole lot more manageable always rules.” When he’s not keeping time on the job, is favorite break spot in town is the one and only Home Slice Pizza. But, when asked who his favorite band is, he couldn’t decide between Rusty Dusty or Jack Greenwood (both MASH Movers!)
V
When you see V hauling boxes up a flight of stairs on the job, he’s not just moving — he’s training! You can catch him in the ring, competing in MMA events all over the state of Texas. And what does V use to fuel his on-the-job training sessions? His favorite lunch spot is Papa Joe’s in East Austin.
BLAKE
When Blake’s not folding construction paper at Spilled Milk Social Club, he’s folding blankets on the MASH truck! In addition to working with kids, Blake plays the guitar and bass, and produces his own music which you can find here! When we asked him what his favorite moving memory is, he said “Pulling off after a move out to the hill country to find a roadside swimming hole.” Sounds nice!
DAN
Dan is one of the newest members of the MASH team, and is proving to be one of our more talented blues guitarists. It’s no surprise that his favorite movie is the classic, Blues Brothers. His easy going attitude is popular around MASH, as he says “Travis’ pick” is his favorite lunch spot.
DANIEL
Every moving crew needs a solid folk act. For MASH, that’ll be Daniel. You can check out his track Perfect Time here! When asked what his favorite moving memory is, he replied, “Nothing in particular, every job is a new challenge and I enjoy working together to solve problems!” We love Daniel’s infectious positivity around MASH!
TYLER
Tyler is an experienced crew leader as well as working in the office. He can help to book your move and answer any questions you have. His band is called Good Looks, and he also plays bass in The Stacks.
CHASE
Chase works mostly weekends at Mash, working with kids during the week, and making music at night. He regularly plays around Austin, including with his band Marmalakes. As you can see he also once played a solo set in the back of the Mash truck during SXSW!
