Why is it called MASH?

FullSizeRender-1.jpg

MASH is an acronym for Mansion, Apartment, Shack, House. It's a reference to a notebook game middle school kids played to see what their future would look like. If you're unfamiliar, check out this wikipedia entry.

What does it cost?

We charge hourly, so the cost depends on the size of the move.

Our standard rate is $209/hr with a 2 hour minimum and we use a 3 mover crew and 16’ or 20’ box truck. This is a good fit for 1, 2 or 3 bedroom moves. We can be the most efficient with a 3 mover crew, so unless the move is guaranteed to be quick even with 2 movers, we recommend this option. Plus, this is our best deal!

For small moves (studio, efficiency, or lightly furnished apartment) our rate is $150/hr with a 2 hour minimum for a 2 mover crew and 16’ box truck.

For large moves, office moves, or out of town moves please reach out so we can customize your move for you. We can always send extra movers or extra trucks to make sure everything is as efficient as possible.

Please call, text or email for a free quote, and we’ll be happy to answer any moving related questions in the process.

What do I get with my move?

You get the truck, your movers, and all the accoutrements: moving blankets, plastic wrap, dollies, etc.

Are there any extra fees?

No hidden fees! All gas & equipment, insurance & taxes and everything else are included in the hourly cost of your move. Your hourly rate starts when we arrive at your old place and ends when we finish up at the final destination, unless your job has travel time.

How does Travel Time work?

Travel time covers our crew’s time driving to and from our office. For instance, if you’re moving from Mueller (about 15 minutes from our office) to Round Rock (about 30 minutes from our office) we will add 45 minutes to the end of your move. But we will use your specific address to make sure all times are as accurate as possible. We also allow a little wiggle room, rounding down essentially, so that if you’re moving right within our neighborhood of 78702, you likely won’t have any travel time added to your job.

In a nut shell: If we’re driving more than 15 minutes combined, to and from our office, we’ll need to add Travel Time. It helps ensure your movers are getting paid for all of their time. Please email or call if you have questions!

How does Time Travel work?

We have some theories...

How do I prepare?

The more prepared you are, the more smooth your move. Everything that can go in a box should go in a box. All boxes should be taped closed on the top and bottom. Clothes should be removed from dressers (the extra weight in them while being moved can cause them to get damaged). Trash bags are also useful for soft items. They are especially useful for hanging clothes. Open the bag and guide a handful of hanging items in, then tie the bag closed just below the hanger hooks. This will keep them safe and clean and also make them easy to hang right back up at your new place.  And don’t forget about your television! We can move TVs without them being boxed up, but we do recommend you put them in a TV box to keep them safe. After all, you need somewhere to watch the Great British Baking Show.

Do you just do moves or some small deliveries also?

We specialize in residential moves. We can also do deliveries, are masters of loading PODs or Uhauls for long distance moves, and can unload your POD or Penske as well if you’re just moving to town. We’re also always happy to provide help on labor only moves, like if you’re moving everything form one room of the house to the garage to redo the floors.

Do I need to take my bed apart?

Any preparation you do before we arrive will save time, which will save you money. Beds should be taken apart to ensure they travel safely -not to mention fit through doorways- but we will be equipped with tools to do it ourselves if you prefer. And anything we take apart we will put back together.

What size is your truck?

We have a 20’ Isuzu box truck equipped with a lift gate. It’s height is 12’6” (so please let us know about any low hanging branches or power lines!). The dimensions inside the box are approximately 20’ x 8’ x 8’.

We also have a 16’ box truck that’s like a little brother version of our other truck. This one is perfect for studio or 1 bedroom moves and can fit in all the little downtown alleys or east side loading docks.

Is there anything we don’t move?

We like being able to move anything you need moved, but there are a few exceptions for safety reasons. We can’t move the following: hazardous chemicals & paint; guns & ammunition; grand pianos; pool tables; most hot tubs. That’s it! We can handle pretty much anything else.

Should I tip my movers?

We have never seen a mover turn down a tip for a job well done (especially cash tips). If you're curious what the proper amount is, you should use your search engine of choice. Or phone your friend who is always moving…
